दो पंक्ति से अधिक अब तो स्मरण ही नहीं है | इससे ज्यादा की ज़रुरत क्या है , इतना समय किसके पास है ? पूरी चालीसा वे गढ़ें जिन्हें मूल को अपभ्रंश करते करते मुलायम / लालू चालीसा तक ले जाना हो ! हमारा काम तो बस इतने से चल जाता है, वह भी जब कभी गाने का मन हो | वरना यह भी हमारी दैनिक ज़रुरत कहाँ है ? =

* बेटे की शादी के बाद पहले तो माता पिता कुछ दिन चिंतित होते हैं कि कहीं ऐसा न हो बहू बेटे में न पटे, तलाक़ की नौबत आये, या वैवाहिक जीवन खटपट में बीते | लेकिन जब बहू बेटे में पटरी पुख्ता हो जाती है तो सशंकित हो जाते हैं - हाय, हमारी तो कोई पूँछ ही नहीं रही | बेटा तो बहू के कहने में आ गया, गुलाम हो गया | अब वह हमारी सुनता ही नहीं |

* नहीं भाई साहेब एवं आस्तिक अनुज मित्र , विश्वास कीजिये मैं नास्तिक ही हूँ | चचा भतीजा मिलकर हमारे आन्दोलन को खराब न कीजिये, गाँधीवादी तरीके से | मालूम है, गाँधी जी ने भी परम भारतीय नास्तिक हमारे वरेण्य अग्रजन ' गोरा ' [Founder - Atheist Center] को भी ऐसा ही कहा था | गांधी जी तो जैसे गाँधी जी थे, वह गोरा के अंतिम संस्कार में शामिल होने गए और उन्होंने गोरा के सम्मान में कहा - गोरा तो महान आस्तिक थे | अब बताईये उनके द्वारा यह हिंसा हुयी या अहिंसा ? उन्होंने एक वाक्य में गोरा के जीवन भर के प्रयास पर पानी फेर दिया | मेरे ख्याल से गाँधी द्वारा यह गोरा का सम्मान नहीं, असम्मान था | व्यक्ति को उस व्यक्ति के रूप में ही लिया जाना चाहिए था | क्या गांधी के कहने का यह मतलब था कि नास्तिक आदमी तो अच्छा हो नहीं सकता, और गोरा अच्छे आदमी थे | इसलिए गोरा नास्तिक हुए | यह तो गोरा को गाली देने के समान हुआ कि उनके चिंतन और आदर्श को ही उलट दिया जाय | उन्हें यह समझ कभी नहीं आई कि नैतिकता अलग है आस्तिकता - नास्तिकता / या धार्मिकता - साम्प्रदायिकता अलग | ठीक है कि नैतिकता के उच्च धरातल पर जाना व्यक्ति का उद्देश्य होना चाहिए, लेकिन इससे उसकी आस्था - अनास्था का कोई सम्बन्ध नहीं है | सबके अपने तरीके हैं और सब अपने मार्ग को श्रेष्ठ समझकर / बताकर उसका संवर्धन और प्रचार प्रसार करते हैं | वही मैं भी करता हूँ - नास्तिक मानववाद का सरोकार | ज़ाहिर है हम भी उन्ही संस्कारों से निकले हैं जिनके प्रभाव में आप लोग अभी रमे हो | लेकिन अब हम लोगों की संख्या और संस्थाएँ विकास पर हैं | आप के विचार स्वाभाविक रूप से हमसे टेली करें तो उससे हमें क्या परहेज़, लेकिन यह तो निश्चित है किजिन रूपों में आमजन ईश्वर को जानता समझता है, आराधना करता है उस पर हम विश्वास नहीं करते | वैज्ञानिक चिंतन के पक्षधर हैं पर मनोविज्ञान और कल्पना - काव्यात्मकता को स्वीकार करते हैं और इसलिए हम देवताओं - भगवानो को उस तरह नहीं नकारते जैसा इस्लाम उनके साथ करता है, या अल्लाह के विरुद्ध उस तरह नहीं बोलते जैसा हिन्दू बोलता है | अब इसी इंसानी व्यवहार से लोग समझते हैं - गाँधी जी के तर्ज़ पर = " साला यह तो आस्तिक बन गया " [ यह सगीना फिल्म में दिलीप कुमार का एक डायलाग गीत के बतर्ज़ भी है] |
विचार और ट्राई भी किया आस्तिकता आधारित मूल्यों की सफाई का धर्मों में सुधार का | लेकिन भारत के हिन्दू - मुसलमान में कोई फर्क तो आ नहीं रहा है | बहुत प्रयास किया महात्माओं ने दयानंद विवेकानंद जी भी उनमे शामिल हैं | लेकिन उस सारी सफाई का लाभ पारंपरिक दकियानूसी पाखंडी ब्राह्मणवाद को ही मिल जाता है | वे उससे अपनी प्रासंगिकता - प्रगतिशीलता सिद्ध कर ले जाते हैं और महात्माओं के सद्प्रयास धरे रह जाते हैं | गांधी को बड़ा गर्व था अपने धर्म पर , क्या वह किंचित भी बदल पाए उसे ? हरिजन सेवा में सन्नद्ध कर पाए सवर्ण को ? तो धर्मों को बचाकर इंसानियत की कोई उम्मीद ? बस राम कहिये | इसलिए हम चुपके से इनके चंगुल से निकल आये | हमें जो मानना होता है मान सकते हैं पर इसलिए नहीं की वह धार्मिक आदेश है | इस और आने वाले भौतिक वैज्ञानिक युग के लिए इससे अधिक सही और कोई रास्ता नहीं है |
तो आप भी, इसलिए हे मित्रो ! बंधुओं, अनुजो और अग्रजो, बिना अपने कीमती जीवन का समय गवाएँ नास्तिकता की शरण में आ जाओ [ ऐसा ही श्री कृष्ण ने कहा था ] | आखंड पाखण्ड परित्यज अपने बुद्धि विवेक को नैतिकता का आधार बनाओ , और सारे मनुष्यों के बीच, मनुष्यों से एकरस होकर, अपना विशिष्ट मानुषिक जीवन सफल और सार्थक बनाओ | समय बीत जाने पर नास्तिक बनकर ही क्या करोगे जब शरीर में न शक्ति रहेगी, न मस्तिष्क में गूदा ? बिलकुल अभी किसी भी ईश्वर अल्लाह की गुलामी छोड़ सृष्टि का मूल उद्देश्य अपने आप सोचो समझो- निर्धारित करो और सृजन के सर्जक [ जिसे आप भगवान् कहते हो ] का स्वप्न यथार्थतः साकार करो | अपने भ्रम और संशयात्मा से मुक्ति लो | ईश्वर तुम्हारा कल्याण करेगा :-)
[ कहानी - 'अभी तो मैं जवान हूँ' ]
सिटी बस में एक साठ साल के बूढ़े ने सीनीयर सिटिज़न सीट पर बैठे मेरे पापा से उठने के लिए कहा | पापा खड़े हो गए और वह सीट पर बैठ गया | मैं तो खड़ा था ही | थोड़ी देर बाद जब हम नीचे उतरे तो मैंने पापा से पूछा - आप की आयु तो उस बूढ़े से ज्यादा है पापा, फिर आप ने उसे सीट क्यों दे दिया ? पापा ने कहा - उस व्यक्ति की नज़रों ने मुझे बूढ़ा नहीं समझा क्या यह कम तारीफ़ थी ? उसकी ऐसी प्रशंसा ने मुझे सीट छोड़ने को प्रेरित किया |
लेकिन दूसरी यात्रा में तो पापा ने गज़ब ही कर दिया | जब वह बस में चढ़े तो बूढ़ों की सीट पर बैठे एक युवा ने उठकर उनके लिए सीट खाली करने का उपक्रम किया | पापा ने उसके कंधे पकड़ कर उसे वापस सीट पर बिठा दिया - " बैठो यार, अभी तो मैं जवान हूँ | "

- - बाबा , यह गोरा कौन थे ?
* ठीक है कि कर्म करना चाहिए | यह भी मान लिया कि कर्मे के फल की भी आशा करनी चाहिए, और फल मिल जाए तो भोगना भी चाहिए | लेकिन मेरी सलाह है कि फल की लालच में इतना ' कर्म ' भी नहीं करना चाहिए कि चलती बस में बलात्कार किया जाय और बम - बंदूकें लेकर आदमियों को मारते फिरा जाय ?
क्या मैं ठीक नहीं कह रहा हूँ ? होली के बाद अब मेरा दिमाग कुछ ठीक तो लग रहा है ! लेकिन क्या पता ?

* दीर्घजीविता के लिए आवश्यक है कि जन्मदिन अत्यंत सादगी से मनाया जाय, या मनाया ही न जाय | [ पाखंड भारती ]
* पत्रकार भी तो इसी बहती सामाजिक गंगा का श्रद्धालु स्नानार्थी है ? कहाँ है किसी कुएँ में ' पानी ' जिससे वे कुछ 'अलग' नहाएँ ?

* यह मैं बहुत गंभीरता से कह रहा हूँ | कि -
क्या हम पूर्ण ज्ञानी हैं ? या पर्याप्त ज्ञानी हो गए हैं ? क्या हमें अपनी वैज्ञानिक सोच के आधार पर ही सम्पूर्ण मानव समाज की तरफ से, उन्ही की तरह, अपनी अज्ञानता स्वीकार नहीं कर लेनी चाहिए ? और उसके प्रतीक किसी ईश्वर के अस्तित्व को मान नहीं लेना चाहिए ?

* हालाँकि कहने में कुछ संकोच तो है लेकिन ऐसा अनुभव होता है कि लड़के लड़कियों का आपस में घुलमिल कर रहना उनके बीच साम्बंधिक अनेक विकारों को नष्ट कर सकता है | यह विचार भाई बहनों और सम्बन्धियों के पुत्र पुत्रियों के उदाहरण के मार्फ़त ही मस्तिष्क में आया | वे सब साथ रहते बोलते बतियाते झगडे करते है पर कोई बुराई नहीं आती | इसी तरह सहशिक्षा और सामान्यतया इनके बीच निःसंकोच व्यवहार की सांस्कृतिक स्वतंत्रता हो तो शायद, कहा जा सकता है कि, इनके बीच निर्विकार सम्बन्ध विकसित और कायम हों ! लेकिन अब, इसमें दिक्कत तो है कि बस -ट्रेन में, राह चलते सड़कों लड़के लडकियाँ, पुरुष महिलाएँ कितनों से तड़ा तड बतियाते फिरेंगे ? और फिर वे बातें भी क्या, किस विषय पर करेंगे, जितना बहन भाइयों या घर के स्त्री पुरुषों के बीच सहज संभव है ?

Why Muslims are so detested by non Muslims?
A few Muslim passengers were speaking in Arabic in an airplane which made some other passengers scared and the pilot had to ask them to disembark, A Muslim name creates fear and suspicion in an airport check in counter in a non Muslim country, A Muslim name faces difficulty, sometimes outright denial when they go to rent a house in India, a bearded man, hijabi or niqabi woman instantly creates disgust in the mind of the others. Nobody can deny these realities anymore. In Burma Muslims are being killed and tortured by the Buddhists, in Sri Lanka majority Sinhalese are complaining against against the Muslims for their dress and life style. Europe does not welcome Muslim immigrants anymore although its not an official policy yet.
These realities are not shared by the majority of the Muslims. They complain that these facts are motivated to destroy the Muslims. Is that so? After the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York, Muslims around the world are searching for answered from a 7th century Book rather than be pragmatic to solve their problems. They are trying to make a lethal brew of religion and politics thereby making their position more vulnerable.
Muslims need to engage themselves in a vigorous soul searching to find out where the real issue is. They must understand that their dogmatic approach to Islam will just increase their woes. If they are facing refusal in the world they must address the reason, rather than blaming other. By blaming others for their miserable failures and woes, they will just invite more disregard and hatred. A 7th century tribal dogma is no solution for the 21st century.
Martin Pembroke Harries = I reckon the situation will help when religion is recognised as simply a group of people ascribing to certain rules - just like any other association or club.
Like Christians have to subscribe to the rule that Jesus died for the sins of people born in the future (bizarre!) and like Muslims have to subscribe that Miohamed had a perfect unassailable character (undeserved!).
A religion is just a club. Nothing more. No different to a political party membership. Religious clubs have their leaders, or heroes, and criticism of them is painful. But why is it painful? Take any fervent Beatles fan - s/he may feel 'hurt' when s/he hears criticism or ridicule of the Beatles. But s/he will allow such criticism to affect her well-being only if s/he is emotionally immature. Otherwise s/he realises that others may have opposing views and maybe, just maybe, their views may have some merit. Best to calmly consider what they have to say.
If the guidelines and rules of a club are anathema to tolerance and freedom of thought and championing individual liberty regardless of gender, then criticism of that club and its inspirational leaders is right and proper.
Muslim population in the UK since 911 has increased by 60%. One normally moves to an area where one feels more comfortable. One of the major reasons why Europe is more comfortable is because Islamic-thinking hasn't influenced its community mores or public policy. A lot of hot-headed Muslims demanding Sharia-type public policy and mores should try and understand that.

The situation is so disgusting that a very illiterate Muslim also started showing their K9 teeth after 9/11. Muslims never tried to clear their name from the allegations of terrorism and extremism. I wonder if a criminal act like 9/11 is their source of Islamic regeneration what more in the store for us. Their hatred for non Muslims has made their faith a satanic one. How they can expect respect and compassion if they themselves does not know the meaning of these two profound words?

If the Fatwa to kill Salman Rushdie was taken as Halal by the Muslims for just writing a book, what about those bloody killers of Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan? Is it also Halal to kill the innocent? The so called custodian of the two holy Muslim shrines never tried to make a dialogue with those thugs to make them understand if their killing spree is justified in Islam or not? If they have not done it, they are a party to these crimes. In millions of mosques around the world they curse Israel and America but never Osama bin Laden or Mullah Omer. It proves that the connection between their sense of rationality and reason has snapped.

Though my suggestion may sound communal, but Akbar Bhai, I very honestly and purity of my heart, think that every nation undoubtedly bears a ethnic and cultural origin which it wants to adhere to . This phenomenon, besides all modernization, should be duly respected . And so , every individual or group immigrant should adopt a new literary - political nick name and clothing for use in that country, just as we wear uniforms for specified purposes.. Don't change faith . Let it be in the heartsas it pertains to it. But come into a new lifestyle and " Live in Rome as Romans live " . Or , rather, why are you going to the 'other' country Mister ! which is unbinding, unfaithful to your aspirations ? Why should you think of a slut walk in Arabia ? Why should you keep your turban up in England ? Why should you wear a Naquab in America . The problem is - nobody follows other-bodies rules . Everyone thinks that this world is his/hers and he/she owes nothing to the world . They should be told that the world is not ' small'. It is "shrinking" too . And you must adjust accordingly. If you are eating fruits of new age , come into new age . Don't carry your own old baggage while entering alien gardens . O yes ! you can do so while being in your own old orchard . And so on - And so on - -
